qman

Modern terminal man page viewer with hyperlinks, table of contents, and browser-like navigation.

qman is a drop-in replacement for man that renders pages in the same terminal but adds hyperlinks, browser-style navigation history, a per-page table of contents, and incremental search — without requiring any GUI.

  • Hyperlinked navigation between man pages, URLs, email addresses, and local files
  • Per-page table of contents for quick section jumping
  • Incremental search within pages
  • Navigation history (back/forward like a web browser)
  • Mouse support
  • Index of all installed man pages organized by section
  • Compatible with man command-line options (-k, -f)
  • less-compatible keyboard controls
  • Customizable color themes
  • Works with mandb, mandoc, FreeBSD, and macOS man systems
